disposal and recycling
Information on disposal and recycling
Old devices do not belong in the household waste! Old electrical devices contain valuable resources that can be recovered and reused in recycling processes. However, they also contain harmful substances that must not be released into the environment under any circumstances.
You are obliged to hand in your old electrical devices at an official collection point, for example at your local waste disposal or recycling center.
Meaning of the symbol "crossed-out garbage can"
The "crossed-out wheeled bin" on your electrical and electronic devices indicates that old devices must not be disposed of with household waste, but must be collected separately. You will find the symbol either on the product itself, on its packaging or in the instructions for use.
Near the garbage can symbol you will find the name of the respective pollutant. "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Hg" for mercury and "Pb" for lead.
batteries , rechargeable batteries and lamps
For safety reasons, batteries, rechargeable batteries and lamps that are not permanently installed in devices should be removed before the old device is returned and disposed of separately. Please use the collection containers provided in our stores to return batteries, rechargeable batteries and lamps. For lithium batteries, tape over the battery terminals to avoid short circuits.
privacy policy
Old devices often contain sensitive personal data. This is especially true for information and telecommunications technology devices such as computers and smartphones. In your own interest, please note that each end user is responsible for deleting the data on the old devices to be disposed of.
